Yoda gets his hair washed

In this fascinating video, Owen gets his hair washed by Mom & Dad. He is amazingly calm throughout the entire ordeal, but he's probably just showing off for the camera. Apologies in advance for the angle. We had to set the camera on the counter because it apparently takes four adult hands to wash one tiny head of (limited) hair.

First picture

This picture was taken just a few minutes after Owen was born. He had a rough start and his color was still improving at this point, but we knew he was going to be okay. The nurses had to suction a whole lotta fluid out of his lungs because he decided to come out with the umbilical cord wrapped twice around his neck. They took him out into the hallway (where this picture was taken) and quickly got him breathing. They worked for a few more minutes, patting him hard on the back and forcing more fluid up. The whole time they were telling him they wanted to hear a good loud cry. That's what he's doing here and it was the sweetest sound in the world. (Hearing Owen cry continued to make dad feel slightly more relaxed for the rest of the day....until about 4am, anyway.)

The wait is over...

Owen finally relented and agreed to make his debut this morning. At 5:07 AM, weighing 7 lbs 6 ozs, at 21 1/2 inches long, he was born with just a little extra excitement. But he's very healthy, beautiful, and clearly the smartest baby in the nursery. Stayed tuned for late breaking details....
